05/02/26 - Kiss FM Australia Guest Mix

We’re incredibly proud to share that Sunset founder Phil Reid has been invited back to perform another guest mix on Kiss FM Australia — widely regarded as Australia’s number one destination for dance music.

Being invited to feature on Kiss FM is a genuine privilege. The station has a long-standing reputation for championing quality electronic music and showcasing DJs who represent the depth and diversity of the scene. To have Sunset Sessions represented on such a respected platform is something we don’t take lightly.

Phil’s return to Kiss FM reflects not only his ongoing relationship with the station, but also the growth of the Sunset Sessions brand — a project built on passion, consistency, and a love of connecting people through sound. What began as a personal mix series has grown into a platform that celebrates both established and emerging DJs from around the world.

We’d like to extend a sincere thank you to the Kiss FM team for the continued support and trust. Moments like these reaffirm why Sunset exists: to share music, tell stories, and create meaningful connections through dance music.

18/01/26 - Latest Mix. Vol. 66 - Kane Nelson x Sunset. Mixed by Kane Nelson & Phil Reid

This episode features a very special guest mix from Kane Nelson, co-founder of Digital Society— and we’re seriously excited to welcome him to Sunset Sessions.

Known for genre-fluid sets spanning house, progressive, trance, techno and beyond, Kane has performed across the UK and internationally — including India, Ibiza, and the Amsterdam Dance Event, sharing the stage with the likes of Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Ferry Corsten, Gareth Emery, Solarstone, and Markus Schulz.

It was at ADE where he marked a major milestone with the release of Digital Society International Vol. 1, produced alongside legendary Gatecrasher resident Matt Hardwick.

We’re proud to present this exclusive 60-minute guest mix, alongside Phil recorded especially for Sunset.

06/01/26 - Latest Mix. Vol. 65 - Forgotten Classics II Mixed by Phil Reid

06/01/26 - Latest Mix. Vol. 65 - Forgotten Classics II Mixed by Phil Reid

As much as Sunset Sessions is about looking forward — discovering the latest DJs, artists, and new releases across trance and progressive — I think it’s just as important to occasionally look back.

To reflect on the records that helped shape our scene.

The tracks that laid the foundations for the sound we still love today.

With that in mind, Volume 65 brings back a much-loved Sunset Sessions concept: Forgotten Classics.

The Forgotten Classics series first made its debut nine years ago, in Sunset Sessions Volume 3.

It’s a concept that revisits iconic artists — but not necessarily the tracks you’d immediately think of when their names come up.

Often overlooked.

Sometimes underrated.

But every bit as powerful.

It’s an intriguing idea, and one I’d love to continue exploring in the future — so I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts.

What forgotten or underrated tracks do you think deserve a place in a future Forgotten Classics mix?

We’ll be back on more familiar territory next time, and 2026 is shaping up to be a big year — with some very exciting things ahead, including a number of great guest DJs joining us along the way.

As always, turn it up and enjoy.

27/12/25 - Latest Mix. Vol. 64 - 2025 Year mix. Mixed by Phil Reid

This is our final mix of 2025 — the annual year mix, bringing together some of the standout tracks from across the past twelve months.

2025 has been a really special year for Sunset. It marked 20 years of the Sunset brand, and to celebrate we brought the team back together — with myself, Ant Smith, and Col Webster collaborating on a special anniversary mix.

I also had the honour of making my debut mix on KISS FM Australia, which was a real milestone moment for me personally.

Right now, I honestly feel the trance and progressive scene is the strongest it’s been in many years. There have been some absolutely sensational releases throughout the year.

Alongside the usual places I discover new music — like Pure Trance Radio with Solarstone and Group Therapy from Above & Beyond, and even a nice re-emergence from Max Graham this year — there are a couple of people I really want to acknowledge for their contribution to the scene and the promotion of quality music.

Firstly, a big shout-out to Paul Cazzar from Kiss FM Australia — a true supporter of the underground scene.

Through The Pulse, which has become a regular part of my Saturday morning routine, and The Kiss Limelight Show, Paul continues to champion quality music, emerging artists, and the sounds that really matter.

Much respect for everything you do for the industry.

The second shout-out goes to Vriji Staat, aka William Kupera

For me, Will continues to be an absolute constant force in the scene. As both a DJ and producer, he’s consistently putting out incredible work, and I genuinely believe he deserves far more recognition than he gets.

Between his on-air and location mix series, he released an incredible 24 mixes throughout 2025, championing new music — and I’ve discovered heaps of new tracks through those sets this year.

We’re really looking forward to welcoming him back next year, alongside his Anlou Music partner Richard Franklin, for an exclusive guest mix to celebrate their new track release coming in early 2026.

Sunset Sessions has always been about championing the scene and the DJs within it. If you’re a DJ and you’d like to get involved with a guest mix next year, I’d genuinely love to hear from you.

That’s it from me for 2025 — thank you so much for all the support throughout the year.

30/11/25 - Latest Mix. Vol. 63- Sunset Meets Noonix. Mixed by Tom Noone, Gary Hicks & Phil Reid

Introducing Noonix— our guest DJs for Sunset Session Vol 63.

Noonix are a dynamic duo made up of Tom Noone and Gary Hicks, two long-standing pillars of the Northern UK trance scene.

Their story began in 2011 when they crossed paths in a pub and Gary played Paul Oakenfold’s Full Moon Party on the jukebox — a moment that made Tom instantly clock another trance head in the wild. A chat, a spark, and Noonix was born.

Since their first club gig in 2012, they’ve played iconic brands like Ministry of Sound, Digital Society, Goodgreef, Rong, Gatecrasher and shows across Ibiza. They’re also resident DJs and promoters for Blueprint UK in Manchester.

Versatile and experienced, Noonix can deliver everything from deep warm-ups to peak-time energy. If you enjoyed their set, check them out:

16/11/25 - Latest Mix. Sunset Session Vol. 62 - Down the Rabbit Hole

16/11/25 - Latest Mix. Sunset Session Vol. 62 - Down the Rabbit Hole

Hi everyone, and welcome to Sunset Session Vol. 62.

Normally these mixes take weeks of planning — digging through tracks, shaping the flow, and putting together something carefully curated. But this one… is the complete opposite.

It’s Friday night, I’ve hit record, and I’m diving straight in with no plan at all — fully improvised, completely unprepared, and as raw as it gets. Who knows where it’ll go, but that’s half the fun.

As always, I hope you enjoy the journey.

02/11/25 - Latest Mix. Sunset Session Vol. 61 - Beachlife VI.

Hi everyone and welcome to Sunset Session Vol 61.

It’s been a good couple of months since the last edition of the Sunset Sessions - life has been pretty busy and it’s took me a good few weeks to get through my massive backlog of music.

As you know the Sunset Sessions is about celebration Trance Music in all of its subgenres. In this edition we are visiting one of my favourite mix series - Beachlife.

This mix is the 6th one of the series and one that I always love coming back to. Beachlife mixes focus in the more progressive side of the Genre, crosses into melodic and organic house.

At the time of writing this into I am currently sat in a Hotel Room in Melbourne, as much as I love cities the music in this mix really reminds me of where I live - right on the coast near the ocean and I can’t wait to fly home tomorrow.

In the Summer hemisphere Sring has sprung - summer is well on its way and I couldn’t think of a better soundtrack.

As always I hope you enjoy.

25/09/25 Sunset Needs you!

Guest DJs wanted.

We’re always looking for talented guest DJs who share the Sunset Sessions ethos — melodic, progressive, and trance music with emotion and flow.

If that sounds like you, reach out to discuss a collaboration and be featured in an upcoming Sunset Session.

01/08/25 - Latest Mix. Sunset Session Vol. 60 - I've got that on Vinyl

01/08/25 - Latest Mix. Sunset Session Vol. 60 - I've got that on Vinyl

This is Volume 60 — a milestone worth marking — so I thought I’d do something a little different.

Whist modern technology is great and it has made the scene much more accessible to everybody, I do feel that there is a bit of a lost art to manually beatmatching - and Sync button of not I think its very important that Every DJ is able to understand and do this rather than rely on what the waveforms are showing them

Of the back of that I present to you a vinyl-only mix. No digital, no USBs — just me, two turntables, and some of the records I’ve collected over the years. I’m calling it ‘I’ve Got That on Vinyl’

For me, it’s simply a chance to have a bit of fun whilst sharing some of the tracks from my much younger days.

It’s been about 15 years since I last properly spun vinyl, so this mix isn’t perfect - this should be interesting!

24/07/25 - Latest Mix Sunset Session Volume.59

24/07/25 - Latest Mix Sunset Session Volume.59

We’re back to more familiar territory in Volume 59 of the Sunset Sessions as we return to the Hiatus series — a personal collection of mixes curated solely me, reflecting the music that's resonating with me in the moment.

This one’s actually a bit of a curveball — it features quite a few vocal trance tracks, which is a departure for me, as I’m usually not a huge fan of vocals in trance. But something about these tracks hit differently this time.

I have took a lot of inspiration for this mix from a lot or really cool radios how’s and Podcasts that are currently airing and I hope you enjoy.

Let’s dive in.

24/05/25 - Latest Mix. Sunset Session Vol. 58

24/05/25 - Latest Mix. Sunset Session Vol. 58

A couple of months back, Sunset celebrated its 20th anniversary with a very special mix put together by the original crew—myself, Col Webster, and Ant Smith.

For that mix, we set ourselves the near-impossible task of each choosing our top 10 tracks of all time. At the time, we joked that we could’ve easily just picked all the banging tunes from 1999—and not one person would’ve disagreed that every track would be an absolute classic. But… that felt like the easy way out. So, we pretty much dodged 1999 entirely.

But that gave us an idea…

What if we did a full mix solely dedicated to the year 1999?

Because if you know, you know: 1999 was the golden year for trance music.

So here it is: over the next 3 or so hours, you’ll hear 30 tracks, in no particular order, each one released in 1999. Pure classics, pure nostalgia, and pure energy.
